080 Barcelona Fashion Investor Day

080 Barcelona Fashion and the network of investors Seed&Click are organizing 080 Barcelona Fashion Investor Day’s first edition with the objective to contribute to the fashion industry’s business development. With this in mind, they are looking for Business Projects related to or applicable to the sector.

 

The main objective of this event is to back and boost enterprising initiatives, as well as to incubate new projects of the fashion sector and build a new ecosystem in Barcelona focused on the international field.

 

The 10 finalists will present their projects in elevator pitch format, with a maximum duration of 5 minutes on Wednesday 1st July 2015 in front of the members of the jury investors and the rest of the participants. After the presentation, the jury will deliberate behind closed doors in order to choose the winner.  Once the selection has been done, the prize will be given (more than 150.000€) to “The Best Business Project 080 Investor Day 2015”.

- Luis Lara, Senior Advisor Fashion Industry - KPMG

 

Luis Lara has worked for over 20 years in the fashion and retail industries with different executive responsibilities. Since 2010, he has helped retail and fashion companies in their international development as managing partner at RETALENT. Currently, heis also Senior Advisor at KPMG and associate professor at ISEM Fashion Business School(Madrid).

 

Luis Lara was part of the first management team that introduced Marks & Spencer in Spain in 1991. He developed his career in the Spanish subsidiary as store manager in Madrid and Barcelona.

 

In 1996, Luis Lara joined The Walt Disney Co. as area manager in their retail organization in Spain. During these years, the retail chain "Disney Store" was launched successfully.

 

In 2000, Luis Lara joined Inditex as International Director, participating in the development of Zara and the other Inditex’s brands in Central, North and East Europe, Middle East, Latin America and Asia.

 

In 2006 he became Managing Director of Pronovias, a leading global bridal wear company, to manage and update the stores in Spain and develop the brand internationally. He opened over 60 stores, including the "flagships" of London, Paris, Milan and New York.

 

Luis Lara has a degree in Economics and Law by ICADE (Universidad Pontificia de Comillas) and a Management Development Program (PDD) in ESADE Business School (Barcelona) and the Advanced Management Program (PDG) at IESE Business School (Barcelona).He is co-author of the book: “Por qué unas tiendas venden y otras no" (”Why some shops sell and others do not” - Editorial Libros de Cabecera, 2012.

 

- Enric Jové, director - McCann Worldgroup

 

Enric Jové is currently CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of McCann WG Barcelona and CIO (Chief Innovation Officer) of McCann WG Spain. He joined the company in 2000 after selling his own company to this multinational.

 

During his career in the Group has assumed management positions at McCann Health, Momentum and Digital McCann prior to being appointed as head of the eight companies that make McCann WG in Barcelona. He created the McCann Teammates division that manages social networks athletes like Rafael Nadal, Pau Gasol, Leo Messi, Carles Puyol, Iker Casillas and Alberto Contador and others.

 

During his career he has managed communication campaigns for brands like Nespresso, Nike, Desigual, Inditex, Puig, Nescafe, la Caixa, Buitoni, Maggi, Barclays and FC Barcelona.

 

Although an economist by profession, specializing in Marketing, after completing a Masters, after a period of five years he worked in the financial sector (and the Caixa Sabadell); subsequent development throughout his career in advertising.

 

It also has a deep connection with education, given that since 1999 teaches at ESIC Business School, Business School is the Director of Digital Area and where the Master in Digital Business created in 2011. In this same chapter, Enric Jové He is a regular speaker at conferences in the world of marketing and communication, in recent years he has participated in Future of Advertising, Today is Marketing, Biz Barcelona, ​​Bcn Mobile Capital, Sonar or SIM among others.

 

- Fernando Maudo, Director - Vente Privée Spain

 

Fernando Maudo is General Director of vente-privee.com for Spain; the second market is the largest ecommerce company in Europe and founder of the business model of salts flash.

 

Fernando is a manager from the world of offline retail converted over five years to the online and e-commerce. - Isabel Mesa, Country Manager Spain and Portugal - WGSN

 

With a degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense and the Faculte des Affaires Internationales de Le Havre, Isabel leads WGSN´s team in Spain and Portugal since 2006 and has been responsible for the local implementation and expansion of the company´s structure, taking it to exponential growth on client base and introducing new products such as: WGSN Lifestyle & Interiors, WGSN INstock, WGSN Style Trial and WGSN Mindset, consultancy service. Additional to her role as Country Manager and because of her extensive knowledge in the Fashion industry, Isabel also delivers seminars and talks for clients as well as industry congresses and seminars around Spain and Portugal.

 

Prior to her role in WGSN she developed an international career on production and selling of branded content for the written press as special supplements for Le Monde, Sunday Telegraph, The Times, US News & World Report, The New York Times and Time Magazine. She conducted high profile interviews and commercial negotiations in countries such as  México, Brasil, Jordania, Uzbekistán, Rusia, Israel, Kenya, Filipinas, Grecia, Portugal and Malasia.

 

- Samuel Martinez, Director Retail Vertical - Facebook

 

Samuel has extensive experience in the digital marketing both client and agency. He joined Facebook in 2010. Sincethen he has been responsible on Facebook for thestrategy of relevant brands in theretail sector.

 

Previouslyand for fouryears he served as Head of Digital Marketing at BMW Iberia including creativity, mediaplanning, SEO, SEM and social media. Moreover Samuel has extensive agency experience, where he has worked with various Responsibilities at Internet Factory and Netthink Carat.

 

Degree in Business Management and Marketing ESIC, Samuel is keynote speaker at Conferences and professor at Instituto de Empresa and ICEMD.

 

- Myriam Serrano, Editor in Chief - Woman Madame Figaro

 

Journalist with extensive experience in media, specializing in trends, beauty and lifestyle. She is editor in chief of Woman magazine Madame Figaro, the fashion flagship publication of Grupo Zeta. Degree in Information Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) Degree in Business and Institutional Communication at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF).

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:

Kim Mannino

Head of WGSN Live.

 

A graduate of the London College of Fashion, Kim has over 30 years experience in the fashion industry.  

 

Kim has been delivering and helping to translate trend information to customers for 25 years, while working in many trend forecasting companies.

 

Prior to forecasting Kim worked with many top British designers, liaising between the designer and production departments, overseeing from original design ideas through production, to approving garments hanging on rails.  

 

Now heading up the Trend Service team for WGSN, delivering trend information to customers comes as second nature to her.

 

Samuel Martinez
