From May 8th to 11th, the Rec district in Igualada (Barcelona) is, once again, home to the best fashion for men, women and children thanks the Rec Experimental Stores. This festival of pop-up stores is held twice a year and transforms this iconic industrial area with its special sales of fashion and accessories.
The old textile factories will turn into 64 pop-up stores for around 100 brands and designers who will sell their collections to the general public. The balance between independent fashion and global brands is one of the keys to the success of this initiative born 10 years ago and that now presents many 080 Barcelona Fashion names. Designers Txell Miras, Miriam Ponsa and Josep Abril usually share the same pop-up store while emerging talents like Who, Carlotaoms, Rita Row, Ssic and Paul, Pau Esteve and Killing Weekend will take turns in a pop-up store devoted to young designers.
Xavi Grados, winner of the 080 Barcelona Fashion / Rec.0 2019 contest, will also be present in this spring edition and will be able to live this experience first hand and show and sell his collection to the 120,000 visitors that come to the Rec Stores each edition.
Regarding brands, other usual names of the 080 are Sita Murt, Antonio Miro, Como un pez en el agua, Little Creative Factory, Teoh & Lea, Punto Blanco and Torras, all of them present in this edition of Rec Stores. They will share the festival with other brands of childrenswear like Tiny Cottons, Nobodinoz and Bobo Choses as well as homewear like Textura and accessories offer by the likes of Woody’s, Ash, Arnette and Converse, among many others.
Besides fashion, the Rec Stores pop-up festival, also presents a wide foodie offer by the name of Rec Street Food with 32 food trucks to recharge batteries between shopping sessions. And the days will be cheered up by live concerts and other cultural proposals thanks to the Rec Music Festival. All in all, four days filled with fashion and fun in Igualada that will have a 080 souvenir. Designer Txell Miras has been in charge of designing the official t-shirt of this Rec edition, another example of the great harmony between the Catalan catwalk and the pop-up stores festival.
