AMT. LAUNCHES ITS FIRST FASHION ACCESSORY: A BAG

The young designer Adrià Machado is the creative soul behind the emerging fashion brand amt., which made its debut in the 080 Barcelona Fashion 20th edition with its sustainable fashion of elegant and timeless style. Since then he has participated in each new edition, growing with every step done thanks to the projection given by the Catalan runway along with the power of social media.

Amt. can be considered a brand of our times because they listen to their clients through their Instagram and they make sustainable fashion based on circular economy, working with local suppliers and strengthening the Catalan textile industry. Their philosophy perfectly matches the one of 080 Barcelona Fashion, the setting chosen by Adrià Machado to present his last project: fashion accessories.

In his spring-summer 2019 collection, Saudade, shown last June at the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, amt. topped off the models’ looks with bags, from the first appearance on the catwalk. Now these accessories are going to be produced thanks to the interest that they have arose within Instagram. Adrià Machado asked to his followers which accesory they would prefer that he'd produce first: a bag or sunglasses. The winner was this shoulder bag made in recycled leather and resin that we had already seen on the Catalan runway this summer in beautiful shades like baby blue and black.

This is an example of how this young fashion designer is building his emerging brand. Formed in the design school LCI Barcelona, Adrià Machado now sells his amt. collections in multibrand stores across Spain as well as online, where he is especially successful in France, UK and Nordic countries. His simple and urban style, and his local production –amt. is based in Manresa-, is also successful in Spain thanks, in a way, to the support of influencers like Nina Urgell, who have shown his designs in their massively followed profiles. There’s no doubt that amt. is a brand to keep up with.
