Esaú Yori embarked on his career as a designer more than 10 years ago and has come to embody an international statesman for the fashion industry. He grew up in Lima, Peru, and began his career as a creative director when he moved to the European city of Barcelona in 2000. Because of his Japanese, Italian, African and Peruvian roots, this innovative designer has the ability to elegantly blend different cultures, resulting in a clean and classic product with eclectic touches in every collection.

In 2006 he won the top prize for best international collection and a bronze medal for best collection in the Hempel Contest, Beijing. After this event, the artist’s career has continued to constantly evolve. He has collaborated with major brands in the industry as creative director and with major fashion magazines as editor.

In addition, Esaú Yori is one of the best stylists known in the industry. His work has been published in magazines like Marie Claire, Faces, La Vanguardia, and Nox. His vast knowledge of the market and his ability to analyse detail propelled him to the role of stylist for international campaigns at Inditex Group, where he worked with famous photographers like Tim Barber, Purriene and Drew Jarret. In 2008, he started to collaborate as the director of the MBA in Art Direction at FdModa (Barcelona). In 2011 he became the Academic Director at Idep Barcelona – University of Image and Design, where he stayed until 2014.

In 2015, motivated by his passion for Asian culture, the designer moved his creative studio to Guangzhou. There he launched his own project — Esaú Yori — as a global brand.

Literally straddling two hemispheres, Esaú Yori is a brand with headquarters in Barcelona, Spain, and its creative head office in Guangzhou, China. In 2015, thanks to the investment by Garth, Esaú Yori meticulously spent its startup phase preparing for the launch of its first collection on its own Popup Showroom at Milan and Paris Fashion Week.

As a luxury brand, most of Esaú Yori’s designs are limited edition. The reason is not to appear pretentious. Rather, the limited edition concept pays tribute to the ideology of its found, Esaú Yori.

“I believe that there are already too many clothes in the world. We need fewer products, better quality and more love and care in what we decide to create.”

Esaú Yori’s brand philosophy is to create timeless and luxury garments for customers who demand quality and exclusivity:

“I want women to be their own accessory. I would like to create dresses to bring out every single beauty in every woman of the world. To be part of the Esaú Yori family is not about money. It is about taste, ideas and statement.” This is the beginning of a new era in the fashion industry, and Esaú Yori wants be part of it. The way that people consume fashion is changing and the brand is being created mixing two important ideas: tradition and modernity.

A woman’s mind is her best accessory.
Her mind is worth more than her matter.
She is inspired by intelligence.
She values thinkers, dreamers and achievers.
The world has a window into her mind through the clothes she wears.
Who she is defines how she looks.
Above all, she stands for a statement.
We don’t decorate women, we clothe Them.

Esaú Yori AW 19/20 is a personal review of love and the different emotional and mental states that a person can experience in the search for it. From the state of intoxication to madness, from stasis to perdition, from life to death. In the constant search to create collections where the harmony of masculinity and the femininity coexist in perfect unity, the Autumn - Winter 19/20 collection combines classic tailoring accentuating the waist, disproportioning the hips and marking the shoulders in order to create timeless garments where gender is an illusion. Black, Navy Blue, White and Beige are the main colours of this new season and the main fabrics are English Wool, Chinese Silk, Italian Nappa Leather, Mongolian Cashmere, Australian Wool and Japanese Poplin. The purity of these colours and materials have been essential to create this collection that continues to be a soundtrack inspired by the origins of the designer Esaú Yori, his life and his experiences.
