José María García González. Current designer of Ze García. His passion for the world of art and fashion has been dormant throughout his life. At an early age, he sold paintings in different pictorial techniques and participated in exhibitions throughout his city. After completing his art studies, he enrolled at the Barcelona School of Fashion Arts and Techniques of the Ramón Llull University. Subsequently, he completed several courses at the design school of the same university. That is how, at the age of just 23, he was already working in José Castro’s studio as a workshop assistant or for labels such as Dicktons, Desigual or Escada, while also doing fashion stylist jobs for labels like Karen Millen. Eventually, before enrolling in the Ze García project, he worked as a fashion stylist and visual merchandiser for the Emporio Armani group.

It has the flavour of freedom and determination with a woman’s name, Rose Bertin. Her role in the history of fashion has gone unnoticed to give the scoop years later to Charles Frederik Worth, who is considered the father of design. Without detracting merit from Worth, today I want to wink to Rose, who already in the eighteenth century was appointed fashion minister by Marie Antoinette, thus becoming a reference at all royal courts of that time. She was independent, a pioneer in terms of style, a transgressive woman and my inspiration for this collection. To continue with the challenge of enhancing women at each historical stage, I have created a line of Baroque inspiration, with a minimalist and modern touch, while choosing a range of natural colours and finishes with purer lines. The large ribbons, which are not overloaded and combined with a nude aesthetic, enhance a woman's strength and security. I have managed to find in this collection the historical meaning of my career as a designer, the origin of my predecessors and discover the principles of that path that began centuries ago with the birth of my eternal love, haute couture.
