BIOGRAPHY

Romina Cardillo started her career as a designer while working with her mother, Estela Vázquez, at the Argentine company Maria Vázquez, where she was in charge of the entire conceptual brand image. In mid-2006, she started her first project, experimenting in men's wear with Grupo 134. She stood out for incorporating its eco-philosophy, making it the first environmentally-friendly brand in Argentina and generating links with different NGOs, such as Greenpeace. In 2013, she started to develop Nous Étudions, a new and ambitious project that combines design and message, a new concept about the designer as a communicator and social individual. Nous is also defined as a brand that does not work with any material derived from any living being. It has also been highlighted by VOGUE Italy for its 2017 collection as "Vogue Talent". In a short time, the designer managed to present her collection at the London Fashion Week as "Ones to Watch", and in Milan, at the PITTI’s Super fashion show, selected by Sara Maino. In 2019, Nous has launched a capsule, together with Nike, that was presented in the showroom during the Paris Fashion Week. They also developed for the Ferragamo Museum in Florence a suit made of bio textile that will be exhibited until April 2020. Romina Cardillo describes herself as a communicator who uses fashion to express herself and, above all, to be able to change what she feels can "stop being fashionable". Anti-fashion is the new luxury.

Nous Étudions presents at 080 Barcelona Fashion a fashion show made up of two parts. "Nous Nike" is the capsule collection the company created with Nike. Inspired by space nature, 0 gravity and the feeling of floating. It combines technological materials and craftsmanship, which generates a new look on timeless and functional future garments. The company will also present an advance of the SS20 collection, before its show at the Paris Fashion Week. This collection is inspired by the reliefs of the arid and textured soils of planet Earth. The signature oversize silhouette and deconstructed tailoring are starring a colour range that focuses on "no colour” by seeking to highlight shapes and textures only, where black and earthy colours predominate with just a few colour touches. 60% of the fabrics used were scraps, and no animal hides were used, since Nous has been a fully vegan brand since its inception.
