The fashion startup Zer Collection and the emerging fashion brand Tropic Feel have been the winner of the 4th edition of the 080 Investor Day, which has taken place this afternoon within the 22nd edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion.
In the closing of the 080 Investor Day, the general director of Trade, Muntsa Vilalta, has emphasized that "startups and entrepreneurship are drivers of change in the fashion industry and of economic and social development." Related to this, she has pointed out that "entrepreneurship solves current problems and generates jobs" and has highlighted “"the commitment of the Government of the Generalitat to foster an environment for the creation and development of new startups."
The 080 Investor Day, promoted by the 080 Barcelona Fashion in collaboration with Seed&Click, has the aim to boost synergies and networking between fashion start-ups and investors, as we have seen in this 4th edition.
The winner in the start-up category us Zer Collection, a fashion brand that uses digital manufacturing (3D printing and industrial embroidery) to produce its pieces generating zero waste. It’s an innovative brand that works ecology in a circular way based on the “zero waste” concept founded by entrepreneurs Ane Castro Sudupe and Núria Costa Ginjaume.

For its part, Tropic Feel has won in the Raising Brands category for their project of a versatile footwear considered the first water friendly sneakers, ideal for traveling and other outdoors activities.
A panel of experts composed of representatives of the 080ID partners selected the two winning projects from a total of 10 finalists. The two winners won prizes valued at € 120,000 in services from the initiative’s partner companies: McCann Worldgroup, 4YFN, Baker McKenzie, Amazon Web Services, Grupo Zeta, and ESADE Creápolis.
In addition to the presentations of the finalist projects, the 080 Investor Day 2018 held a program of activities about entrepreneurship, innovation and private financing in the fashion industry. Speakers included Prasenjit Tito Chowdhury, who spoke on the impact that technological innovation has on the fashion industry and its link with startups, and Audrey Nizen (NYU, Bloomingdales, C & A, Macy's), who contributed with his vision of the future of the industry. The 080 Investor Day 2018, which had more than a hundred attendees, was streamed live in VR to147 countries around the world.
