In the 17th edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion at the iconic Casa Llotja de Mar in Barcelona, the designers and brands presented their collections for autumn-winter 2016-17. Now that the season has officially started we want to do a recap of the trends seen on the Catalan runway, starting with the key-pieces like the vest for woman. Short, long, dressy, with fur... there are many different versions of this piece that this autumn-winter 2016-17 has the spotlight of the women’s closet. Lupo Barcelona, Sita Murt, Pablo Erroz, Miriam Ponsa and Celia Vela introduced their own interpretation.

Another key-piece of the season is the feminine blouse, with a dramatic bow, sensual and delicate. Menchén Tomàs presents one in sheer pink, Aldomartins with a generous bow and Txell Miras long and exquisite. But this isn’t the only way to wear a shirt this autumn. The masculine version, striped or checked, is also on vogue as seen in Manuel Bolaño’s western fashion-show, Sita Murt and even Bóboli for the youngest fashionistas.

Regarding materials and fabrics, velvet is the king of the season, bringing a sophisticated touch to any outfit. Different brands introduce it in their collections, as Lebor Gabala, TCN, Custo Barcelona and Celia Vela in a micro jumpsuit. Shiny fabrics are other of the trends this autumn-winter 2016-17 and Justicia Ruano showed in a collection full of sparks and reflections. Menchén Tomàs and Yerse also joined this shiny trend.

As for styles, there are two main for women. On the one hand, the boho style was popular thanks to brands like Aldomartins, Escorpion and Sita Murt with ethnical prints, embroideries and natural fabrics. On the other, the sixties look is back through Custo Barcelona and, specially, Naulover who seemed to pay homage to the icon Iris Apfel, guest of honour of the precedent edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion.

Fashion for men also introduces some new trends this autumn-winter 2016-17. Trousers now show a loose fit for a more relaxed silhouette as seen in CARLOTAOMS, Brain & Beast and Edgar Carrascal

Regarding outerwear, there are 3 key pieces: The bomber jacket, as presented by Punto Blanco and Pau Esteve; the cape, as seen in Edgar Carrascal, and the duffle-coat by Pablo Erroz. The trendy touch is added by unexpected accessories like the neckerchief seen at Manuel Bolaño’s show, the men’s jewellery by Pablo Erroz and the funnel necks, which are the main element in the collections by Celia Vela and, specially, Torras.
