Designers of Llotja School win 'Drapeados' contest

The team of young designers Maria Zaguirre, Naomi Filgueira and Elena Ortega from Escola Llotja won the first prize of the contest ‘Drapeados’, driven into the GG Fashion Market Fair 2014, organized by Gustavo Gili editorial, dedicated to fashion books, design, art and photography.


A jury of experts has assessed the risk and experimentation of the pieces, the selection and handling of tissues and the general spirit that design must convey inspired by the book “Draping. The art of modeling clothing, by Hisako Sato". A total of 11 fashion schools from Barcelona and Valencia have participated in this competition which aims to give visibility to the research and experimental work being done by designers within the academic framework , and give value to the learning process and creativity of the sector. On this occasion, the participating students had to specify with patterns the fabric freefall following the techniques in the book 'Drapeados' by the author Hisako Sato.


The winners of the competition will present the design in Gratacós store among other rewards to their work.
