The winner: Josep Abril for the collection 'Reflections'

The international jury of the 080 awarded 'Reflections' best collection of the current edition of the Catalan fashion event for its creativity, quality and international projection.

Always sticking to his trademark, the Catalan designer presented a collection aimed at urban and elegant men. He remained classic when creating dresses and coats, but he dared to experiment with unstructured jumpsuits and dungarees. In terms of colour, Josep Abril banked on black (checkered patterns superposed on coats and shirts) and on light blue and ice grey. Navy blue could be found in knitted wool jumpers.

Special mention of 080's jury to Georgina Vendrell

The collection 'dualismes', by Georgina Vendrell, stood out for being based on contrasts, dual in the union of opposed concepts. The result instilled harmony and balance. A mix of materials and finishes could be found in wool, synthetic leather, neoprene and circular knitted fabrics, in which black, grey and blue hints predominate.

080 Design Contest

For the fourth consecutive time, the 080 Barcelona Fashion, together with the Catalan fashion schools, organised the 080 Design Contest, which nourished the catwalk with its own merchandising products. Current and former students of the fashion schools participated in this season's edition of the contest.

Sabine Schwindling's work won the competition in this occasion. Her design will be on sale from the next edition of the event (July 2014), printed on a T-shirt.
