The womenswear brand Sita Murt has been in charge of bringing the second day of shows at 080 Barcelona Fashion to a close with the collection “Rhythms and Blends” for spring-summer 2017. With the aim to focus on women’s freedom and true to the brand’s style, the collection introduces designs in natural fabrics like linen and cotton combined with viscose and looks in hues like indigo and water blue, green and fruity yellow mixed with white and ecru.

The action on the runway, nonetheless, has started earlier in the morning with the show by Lyle & Scott and designer Edgar Carrascal. “Proudly British” is the collection that Lyle & Scott presents within the 080 Barcelona Fashion framework. It’s a proposal inspired by the vintage and Brit look that defines the brand with cardigans and fitted trousers to the ankle in grey, black and white. Touches of yellow in scarves and socks bring a trendier feel to the collection. Moreover, Edgar Carrascal has presented “FALCONS SS17” aimed to men. It’s a very personal proposal, with different lengths and a special taste for wide silhouettes with unexpected details like the glitter fabrics. In contrast, the light colors, like white, jade green and turquoise, are also present in a collection where the shirt –Carrascal’s main piece- is again the main element.

The morning shows have come to an end through Guillermina Baeza and the collection “Dreams of Paradise” for spring-summer 2017. It’s a collection that expresses romanticism and delicateness thanks to the light color palette with many pastel hues like mauve, pink and baby blue, although there are also some looks in more intense colors like orange and black. The fabrics also contribute to this sweet feeling with the use of vainicas, stretch organzas and metallic touches.

In the afternoon, Txell Miras has kicked-off the catwalk with “Containers”. The past winner of the National Award to the Best collection now gets her inspiration of a cargo port ¡, with its metallic structures, stacked and reused containers, cranes, noise and movement. Thus, the fabrics are waterproof like patent leather and neoprene, while the colors move between white, black and grey, with some touches in khaki and camel, within this industrial framework.

The next one on the runway has been Josep Abril to present at the INEFC’s catwalk his collection SS#2017N39 BEHIND. With live flamenco rhythms by Xumo Nunjo as a background, the models have worn designs true to Abril’s style, with low-rise trousers fitted to the silhouette. Abril makes the classic men’s pieces –shirts, pullovers, trousers- his own and presents a genderless line as he has also introduced some look for women.

Miriam Ponsa has followed with “The harvest of the rice” which has received an enthusiastic ovation from the public. Inspired by Japanese culture and their tradition of the harvest of the rice, which has a spiritual feel, Ponsa has presented organic designs, with ribbons and ropes that are a nod to the traditional clothing by rice farmers. The landscapes are emulated through the selection of colors, like mud brown and green, and the fabrics, like cotton, linen, silk and lyocell, which often are combined in the same piece of clothing as a great example of character and craftsmanship.
