The young haute couture designer Ze García has been in charge of closing the first day of shows of the 080 Barcelona Fashion 23rd catwalk. He has done it with his outstanding collection “Origin”, inspired by the figure of Rose Bertin, the seamstress of Marie Antoinette and pioneering in the art of haute couture. Ze García has achieved a great success in his comeback to the 080 runway with his baroque bridal and party designs adapted to the modern woman, full of romanticism and elegance, which have seduced the audience, full of popular faces and digital influencers with the likes of Pelayo Díaz and Emitaz.
In the morning, the newcomer brand Teoh&Lea has opened the first day of shows with its spring-summer 2019 collection that mixes different influences: from the eighties to the sportwear as well as a spring folk style in the form of long floral dresses. The top model Lucia Lopez has opened the show dressed in white and with a parka in pastel hues, one of the main colors of this brand that makes its debut on the 080 catwalk, along with other more intense tones like coral, green and blue.

Maite by Lola Casademunt has been the next brand on the catwalk to present “central Park” in front of an audience with some well-known faces from TV and fashion like Elsa Anka and designer Juan Avellaneda. Inspired by the women of Manhattan, the collection presents daring and feminine looks with the characteristic touch of this brand. Sequins, velvet and animal print haven’t lacked in a show presented by a great casting, with models like Helen Lindes, showing off his pregnancy, and Miss Mundo Mireia Lalaguna.
To close the morning shows, the iconic brand from Igualada Sita Murt has shown “Uncommon attitude”, a collection that marks their comeback to the 080 after some editions missing. With a vibrant color palette, with mustard, red, blue and the Pantone Color 2019 Living Coral, the proposal combines masculine fabrics like tweed and thick wools with femenine patterns and volumes to celebrate the first women artists, determined, strong and pioneering, who fought to find their own path in a world yet only for men.

In the afternoon, Escorpion Studio Barcelona has presented their spring-summer 2019 see now, buy now collection by the name “Madreperla”. With knitwear as the main fabric, the brand also shows daring mixes like lurex with sequins combined with a tie-dye effect in pastel tones, blue and, even, fluor. It’s a languished collection, in soft hues and infinite silhouettes, that makes us dream of the endless days of summer.
In this first fay of shows, we have enjoyed the international presence of CHULAAP, which has presented “African rewritten”, a collection for men and women full of color and prints, which is a tribute to the diversity of the African continent. Oriental and African motifs decorate these graphic designs of streetwear, with ponchos and capes for men along with wide trousers, oversize jumpers for women, layerings and a bold mix&match.

In a very different style, Naulover has been the next on the catwalk with “L’Éloge”, a line influenced by the style of the sixties, seventies and eighties, but results contemporary thanks to its timeless designs. Clean lines, prints that range from tartan to animal print, and comfortable silhouettes with the presence of midi skirts and palazzo trousers define their proposal for autumn-winter 2019-20.
