Mango has closed the first day of runways of the 080 Barcelona Fashion’s 15th edition with their show at Barcelona’s Maritime Museum to present their collection for men and women for this spring-summer 2015. In this occasion, the Catalan brand has invited international top model Elisa Sednaoui to open their fashion show as a guest of honor.

Before that, emerging designers Pablo Erroz and Edgar Carrascal have been in charge of opening the catwalk with their collections for next autumn-winter 2015-16. The first one, Erroz, has presented “Nostalgic”, a journey to the past where men are presented like dandies and women dress in a sophisticated way. On the catwalk, we’ve seen designs with a sporty feel yet elegant in neutral hues like black, brown, grey and camel.

On the other side, newcomer Edgar Carrascal has presented his collection “Blue Rose” whose key element is the shirt, which the designer reinterprets and updates with fabrics like cotton, polyamide, wool voile and unconventional materials like polystyrene board. The colors of the collection move around whites, blacks and, mostly, blue, with some golden and silver details.

Celia Vela has followed them on the runway. The designer has got her inspiration from a love story between a Japanese girl and a guy from Barcelona to present a collection which revolves around ceremonial attires, the kimonos from the girl’s parents. True to her chic style, Vela has dressed the woman primarily in black and grey while she mastered the concept of “elegance in short” as she has presented many shorts and microdresses. Regarding men, she has imagined a “modern samurai” who is dressed in hoodies and baggy pants made of rustic fabrics.

Brain&Beast have continued the action on the 080 catwalk. With a spectacular setting –including dogs which walked along the models-, the trio of designers have presented “Maniac”, the ninth chapter of their singular “Décalogue”. For next autumn-winter 2015-16, the brand is inspired by the psychoanalysis’ concept of “destrudo”, which describes the destructive drive as opposite to the libido, or creative drive. According to their urban and casual style, the key element is the sweatshirt, in bright colors, and the dominant silhouette is structured thanks to the use of fabrics like neoprene and other synthetic materials.
