Fashion designers and brands can already apply for the annual subsidies open call by the Catalan Government presented through its Trade, Craftsmanship and Fashion Consortium (CCAM) of the Business and Knowledge Department. The deadline is May 23rd and the subsidies are based in three strategic areas: the internationalization of Catalan fashion, the participation in Catalan or national trade fairs and the digital transformation.
The main line of these subsidies 2019 is a boost in the internationalization of the fashion sector. The CCAM programme’s goal is to promote the presence of Catalan designers and brands abroad and foster their market diversification through participating in international showrooms and trade fairs.
To achieve it, these aids cover aspects like the transport and insurance of the collection or the promotion in the forementioned fairs and showrooms to make the participation of brands and designers established in Catalonia in these international events easier.
Another line of subsidies is designed to promote the participation in Catalan and national fairs and is aimed at both designers and brands. Finally, one can also apply to invest in projects of digital transformation. Web design, online marketing and communications and the development of an ecommerce are some of the actions envisioned in this last group of subsidies by the CCAM.
All these subsidies in fashion are part of the CCAM incentives scheme 2019 with which the Catalan Government reinforces its support to trade, craftsmanship and, also, fashion. It’s a plan that has been recently presented in different points of the territory and whose presentation in Barcelona was in charge of Muntsa Vilalta, the CCAM general manager, gathering near 150 professionals at Palau Robert.
