La Roca Village has opened the contest call for  Barcelona Designers Collective. An international project officially launched in January, in the last 080 Barcelona Fashion edition, powered by the renowned luxury outlet -one of the nine Chic Outlet Shopping ® Villages by Value Retail in Europe- with the collaboration of the Consorci de Comerç, Artesanía i Moda (CCAM) and the Agència Catalana de Turisme (ACT).

The project objective is to discover and support emerging talents with a clear commitment and entrepreneurial approach, through a contest generated from a digital platform. This initiative aims to give voice to the new Catalan designers, offering an excellent opportunity to future professionals to highlight, market their collections and make themselves known in the fashion industry worldwide. Since 2007, La Roca Village is involved with new talent through his collaborations with the 080 Barcelona Fashion, one of the most important fashion platforms in our country.

In the words of Miquel Rodriguez, manager of the Consorci de Comerç, Artesanía i Moda (CCAM) "this collaboration is an added value to what we have been doing so far and a good initiative that we welcome and support becasue it will allow us to promote Catalonia to the world as an example of design”.

Contest winners will have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their collections for three months at the Barcelona Designers Collective, an ephemeral shop in La Roca Village. Among the eight winners, a jury of experts will choose the best textile collection, whose designer will have the opportunity to promote it internationally with La Roca Village, the CCAM and the ACT in one of its missions abroad.

According to Desirée Bollier, CEO of Value Retail Management, "Value Retail's mission is to support tomorrow’s fashion and the Barcelona Designers Collective project is the best way to do it. We want to work with emerging talents in order to create a legacy in fashion and present the new design trends to our customers”.

Designers interested in participating in the Barcelona Designers Collective must access the website and fill out a form, submit their business plan, pictures and/or material on their project. The deadline is May 29th. The eight winners will be announced on June 30.
